Hello, everyone,
I’m more than delighted to share with the event our pottery club organized last Friday in the Activity Center.
As scheduled, the activity started with the excellent presentation made by our instructor Mr. Wang, who designed the task for this session. We all observed carefully how a mass of clay was transformed fantastically into a vivid artwork. He also encouraged us to make one of the twelve animal signs. Thanks to the teacher’s help, we accomplished our own work, with which we had photos taken together proudly.
Through the activity, we knew more about Chinese pottery and what it took to make a craftsman.

That evening we had a party, with a huge basketball-shaped cake. On top of the cake were five candles that read “10,000”. I had never been so proud. My dad made a speech, and many of my friends came to congratulate me. It was when the cake’s candles were lit that my dad handed me the paper I had signed on that fateful day at the age of six. I felt tears welling up as I traced the letters on the paper, each engraved in my heart.
Dad and I held the paper to the candle’s flame and watched it slowly burn. Those powerful words that had bound me for nearly 10 years seemed pointless now. The crowd of family and friends gave a great cheer to me. “So, are you going to quit now?” a friend asked. I looked around, staring at the many pictures of Michael Jordan, and of me doing basketball practice over the years. Then, without hesitation, I smiled and shook my head. “Never,” I responded. |
